C-V2X MAC Layer Analysis for Deployment on CAVs

Since Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) applications will share the same physical resources and access the channel using the same resource selection mechanism as Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V), a resource-hungry V2X application may negatively impact the V2V operations. Hence to make room for new applications and usecases, it is important to shed light on the feasibility of these applications in terms of radio performance. The safety-critical nature of V2V communication requires a thorough analysis before a large-scale roll-out.

The main tasks of this project is:

    • Investigation of various V2I communication strategies, particularly in the context of a transaction.
    • Based on the C-V2X protocol, we present an application-oriented analysis of various aspects of a transaction service using both network-oriented and user-centric metrics.
